The brief was to replace an existing wooden summerhouse built in the 1950’s for ‘taking tea’ whilst looking out to the sea loch. A fully glazed (midge proof), steel structure was designed, cantilevered out over the cliff with a partially glazed floor. The building was constructed on an existing stone plinth and then winched out into it’s final position. Accommodation in the central core includes tea making facilities, a livework study, a shower room and a fold down bed.
